  1. Termination and Refund Policy
    • Application Fee for courses is non-refundable.
    • Refunds are based on the following terms and conditions:

  • There is a “cooling-off” period of 10 calendar days after signing the PEI-Student Contract. Within these 10 calendar days, and regardless of whether the Programme Commencement Date has passed, student can submit a written notice of withdrawal to SHRM and receive the full refund of Course Fee and Miscellaneous Fees paid. SHRM will not deduct any Non-Tuition fees from the refunded amount consumed by student during the cooling off period.
  • Deduction of Non-Tuition Fees consumed by the student for refunds is stipulated in the Miscellaneous Fees schedule of the student contract. It includes uniform (if issued), prorated resource fee (books, study notes, culinary materials), ICA Student’s Pass fees, medical checkup, medical insurance, and premiums under the Fee Protection Scheme.
  • As per the Standard Student Contract, a Student who transfers from the Programme to another Programme with SHRM shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Programme and the provisions and refund policy will be applied in the same terms and conditions as withdrawal.
  • For transfers and withdrawals, refunds (if any) will be processed and disbursed within 7 working days of the written notice of withdrawal / transfer given by the student.
  • For withdrawal during the “cooling off” period, refunds will be processed and disbursed within 7 working days after written notice of withdrawal is received. Written notice of withdrawal received after 3.00 pm will be considered as submission on the next working day.
  • SHRM shall also, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student’s notice of withdrawal (and in any event no later than seven (7) working days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student the amounts stated above and communicate to the student on the computation of the refund amount.
  • SHRM will notify the Student in writing within three (3) working days after becoming aware of any of the following (each a “Refund Event”):
    • It cannot commence the provision of the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
    • It cannot complete the provision of the Course by the Course Completion Date;
    • The Course will be terminated before the Course Completion Date;
    • The Student does not meet the course entry or matriculation requirements as stated in Schedule A; or
    • The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (the “ICA”) rejects the Student’s application for the Student Pass.
  • Where any of the Refund Events in Point 1.9(a) to (c) above has occurred (reference to Appendix 1 for flowchart):
    • SHRM shall use reasonable efforts to make alternative study arrangements for the Student and shall propose such alternative study arrangements in writing to the Contracting Party, within ten (10) working days of informing the Contracting Party of the Refund Event.
    • If the Contracting Party accepts such alternative study arrangements, SHRM shall set forth such alternative study arrangements in a written contract, and this Contract shall automatically terminate on the date that such new written contract comes into effect.
    • If SHRM does not propose alternative study arrangements to the Contracting Party within the time stipulated in Point 1.10(a) above, or the Contracting Party does not accept such alternative study arrangements, the Contracting Party may forthwith terminate this Contract by way of a written notice to SHRM.
  • Where any of the Refund Events in Point 1.9(d) to (e) has occurred, SHRM shall forthwith terminate this Contract by way of a written notice to the Contracting Party.
  • If the Contract is terminated pursuant to Point 1.10(b) read with Point 1.9(a), SHRM shall refund all Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees paid by the Contracting Party within seven (7) working days of the termination.
  • If the Contract is terminated pursuant to Point 1.10(b) read with either Point 1.9(b) or Point 1.9(c), SHRM shall refund the Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees in proportion to the uncompleted portion or duration of the Course, whichever is higher, to the Contracting Party within seven (7) working days of the termination.
  • If the Contract is terminated pursuant to Point 1.11 or Point 1.10(c) read with Point 1.9(a), SHRM shall refund all Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees paid by the Contracting Party within seven (7) working days of the termination.
  • If the Contract is terminated pursuant to Point 1.10(c) read with either Point 1.9(b) or Point 1.9(c), SHRM shall refund the Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees in proportion to the uncompleted portion or duration of the Course, whichever is higher, to the Contracting Party within seven (7) working days of the termination.
  • Refund for Withdrawal During the Cooling-Off Period:
    • Notwithstanding anything herein contained, the Contracting Party shall be entitled to, without any liability whatsoever to SHRM, forthwith terminate the Contract at any time within the Cooling-Off Period by way of a written notice to SHRM. SHRM shall return all Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees paid to it within seven (7) working days of the receipt of the written notice.
  • Refund for Withdrawal Outside the Cooling-Off Period:
    • Without prejudice to Point 1.9 to 1.16 above, the Contracting Party may terminate the Contract at any time before the Course Completion Date by providing a written notice to SHRM. Upon receipt of such notice, SHRM shall within seven (7) working days, refund to the Contracting Party such amount (if any) as determined in accordance with Schedule D.
  1. Refund Policy for Short Course (SOA)
    • Short Courses are not eligible for refunds unless the following circumstances occur:
      • The course cannot commence as scheduled
      • The course is cancelled / terminated
      • The course is cancelled mid-way
      • The student fails to meet the entry requirements for the course
    • SHRM will notify the student within three (3) working days if they are eligible for a refund.
    • However, SHRM may offer alternative study arrangements so that the student can continue learning. Otherwise, the student will be given a full refund of Course Fees within seven (7) working days of the above notice if you decide to withdraw before the course commencement date.

refund procedure

1.1. All students who want to request a refund are to fill in the Refund Request Form. The student is to fill up all necessary details as stated in the form and attach any supporting documentation\evidence (if any) are required to process the refund request. Reasons for request must be clearly indicated on the form.

1.2. Upon receipt of any Refund Request Form, Registrar will acknowledge the receipt of the refund request by signing on the form. This will be done within 3 working days upon receipt of the form.

2.1. Registrar will check to ensure that the student has a valid Standard Student Contract.

2.2. Registrar will check all required documents and work out the refund amount based on the refund policy and will indicate the computation on the Refund Request Form.

2.3. If the student is eligible for a refund, the Finance Executive will prepare the Cheque / Cash. The Registrar will inform the student to collect the Cheque and Cash. All eligible disbursement must be done within 7 working days of receipt request.

  • Student is to sign on the Refund Request Form to acknowledge the refund computation and that Cheque / Cash is collected.

2.4. If the student is not eligible for a refund, the Registrar will issue a formal letter of no refund to inform the student of the outcome.

  • If the student wishes to appeal, he/she shall write an official letter stating the reasons and submit it to the CEO within 1 working day of refund outcome.
  1.  If the Appeal is successful, the Registrar will proceed with the Refund Process.
  2.  If the Appeal is unsuccessful and the student is unhappy or in the event of any disputes, the Dispute Resolution Policy and Procedure will apply.
